The Northern Ireland Environment Agency is the national body responsible for protecting and enhancing the environment across Northern Ireland. It oversees nature reserves, regulates environmental impacts, supports biodiversity recovery and works to safeguard landscapes, habitats and heritage at a country‑wide scale.

RSPB NI delivers major conservation projects across Northern Ireland, protecting key species and restoring important habitats such as peatlands, wetlands and uplands. It leads large collaborative programmes, including the PeacePlus Nature initiative, which brings together multiple partners to restore habitats and support species recovery across NI and border counties.

PeacePlus Nature is a major cross‑border conservation partnership led by RSPB NI, bringing together nine organisations to restore habitats, recover threatened species and deliver nature‑based solutions across Northern Ireland and neighbouring counties. It focuses on peatlands, wetlands and grasslands, supporting species such as Curlew, Hen Harrier and Corncrake.

TCV NI is the Northern Ireland branch of the UK‑wide Conservation Volunteers charity. It supports environmental improvement projects across the country, from habitat creation and woodland management to community gardens and outdoor learning. Its teams work with councils, landowners and communities to deliver practical conservation and nature‑based volunteering.

Landscapes NI is a national network of organisations working together to restore and promote Northern Ireland’s iconic landscapes. It focuses on improving landscape policy, strengthening environmental protection and supporting collaborative projects that benefit nature, heritage and community wellbeing across the country.

NI Environment Link is the umbrella body for environmental organisations in Northern Ireland, providing coordination, advocacy and policy engagement at a national level. It supports collaboration between conservation charities, landscape groups and environmental NGOs, helping strengthen environmental protection across NI.
